1.4 STANDARD FORM CATEGORICAL PROPOSITIONS

 

Notes:

 

1. Some means at least one.

2. The copula links or couples the subject term with the predicate term.

3. There are other copulas that we don't use: is, is not, will, will not, etc..

4. The I and O propositions have existential import for Aristotle and Boole.

5. The A and E propositions have existential import for Aristotle - but not for Boole.
